Timelapse — Thunderstorm over the skyline Shot from the top of Garbage Hill — a decommissioned landfill that is also the best free grandstand over the city. The storm kept the lightning inside the cloud, so it reads as purple flashes in the shelf rather than bolts. Shot, cut and exported the same evening. Timelapse — Aurora, Polson Rd & Hwy 229 A friend called to say the aurora was out, so I drove a 200 km round trip at −25 °C and spent five hours out there, half-worried that if I left the van off too long I’d be stranded. First timelapses I’ve ever shot — after owning the camera almost four years. It was also the first solar storm I’d seen: the light strobes rather than drifts, which nothing had prepared me for.
