Local first

AI

Local models doing real work: two weekly newspapers, a searchable podcast corpus, and a librarian that reads what the cloud never will.

4,804 docs offline · 19,451 episodes indexed · 2 papers a week

The machines

Homelab

Seven machines on a private mesh — storage, monitoring, a full node, and one very busy GPU. No port forwarding, no cloud dependency.

7 nodes · 24/7 monitoring · nightly backup chain

Numbers stay home

Money

Self-hosted finance tooling with tax-grade math. The code is the story here — the balances never leave the house.

2 engines · CRA-grade math · 0 balances published

A lab, not a product

I’m Adriel Caraoa — an HVACR tech by trade in Winnipeg, and the operator of a small fleet of machines that transcribe, index, monitor, back up, and publish while I sleep. Everything here is built local-first: sensitive data never touches a cloud model, services run on my own hardware, and every number on this page is measured, not rounded up for effect.

This site is the public index of that work. Each section is a short, hand-curated directory — the way the early web did it, because it still works.

A dark home office at night: two monitors glowing over a desk, a white PC tower, shelves and figures, shot on a vintage tube video camera.
